Inclusion

Diversity is not a goal
at this firm. It is the firm.

Fridman Fels & Soto is a veteran-owned, majority-minority boutique. Our attorneys are former federal prosecutors, SEC enforcement lawyers, and White & Case partners — trilingual, experienced across three continents, and recruited on merit.

Our Commitments

How we practice inclusion.

01

Veteran Ownership

Fridman Fels & Soto is a veteran-owned law firm. Founding Partner Alejandro Soto served in the United States military before pursuing a career in law and government service. We carry that commitment to service into the firm's culture: discipline, accountability, and the understanding that the institution exists to support the mission, not the other way around.

Veteran status does not shape how we practice law, but it shapes who we are. We are proud to be part of the community of veteran-owned businesses and to serve clients across the full range of industries and backgrounds.

02

A Genuinely Diverse Practice

Diversity at Fridman Fels & Soto is the firm, not a program. Our attorneys include Cuban-American, Colombian, Brazilian, and Venezuelan-American lawyers. We conduct matters in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Our clients include individuals and companies from more than thirty countries.

We are a majority-minority firm by any conventional measure, and that is a product of merit: recruiting and retaining lawyers whose backgrounds, languages, and experience give clients a genuine advantage in cross-border matters.

03

Hiring and Advancement

We hire and promote based on ability, work ethic, and judgment. We do not apply numerical targets or preferences to hiring decisions, consistent with applicable law.

We actively recruit from a broad range of law schools, including HBCUs, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and schools with strong immigration law and Latin American law programs. We participate in pipeline programs, offer summer positions and mentorship to law students from underrepresented backgrounds, and believe that expanding the pool of well-trained federal criminal defense lawyers serves the profession and the public.

All attorneys at the firm receive substantive work, direct partner mentorship, and honest feedback. We do not have separate tracks.

04

Clients

We represent individuals and organizations without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Our clients include individuals under investigation, corporations facing government scrutiny, civil society organizations, and institutional clients across sectors and geographies.

We are particularly experienced in representing clients whose matters involve Latin American jurisdictions, non-English-language documents, or cross-border legal exposure — experience that grew organically from who we are and where we come from, not from a diversity initiative.
