Overview

Santiago Torrijos is an associate at Fridman Fels & Soto, PLLC. He graduated first in his class from Universidad de Los Andes School of Law in Colombia — one of Latin America's most prestigious law schools — with the Cum Laude distinction and holds an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Before coming to the United States, Mr. Torrijos built an exceptional white-collar practice in Colombia. He worked directly with Mario Iguarán, the former Attorney General of Colombia, at Mario Iguarán Abogados Asociados, where he rose to income partner and defended businessmen, governors, senators, former prosecutors, and public figures in complex criminal proceedings. His practice covered wire fraud, money laundering, extradition, and corruption — often with cross-border dimensions.

After graduating from Georgetown Law, Mr. Torrijos served as a law clerk at Lauro & Singer in Washington, D.C., where he assisted with the defense of President Donald J. Trump in his federal criminal prosecution by the Department of Justice. He also externed at Picard, Kentz & Rowe, focusing on transnational repression, war crimes, and human rights violations.

He is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian.
