Fridman Fels & Soto is pleased to welcome Roberto Potter Martins Ferreira, who joins the firm on January 15, 2026 as a J-1 visa trainee through our international law clerk program for experienced Latin American lawyers.
A Brazilian-qualified lawyer with a decade of experience, Roberto has advised domestic and international clients on cross-border M&A, antitrust, and compliance matters at top-ranked São Paulo firms — including Caminati Bueno, Barbosa Müssnich & Aragão, and Tozzini Freire, where he supported the antitrust defense in Brazil's landmark Lava Jato investigation. His work spans more than 30 merger filings before CADE and cartel, leniency, and compliance matters across the finance, healthcare, energy, mining, and pharmaceutical sectors, for clients such as Glencore, Citibank, Gilead, and IBM.
He earned his LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University Law Center (Class of 2025 — Merit Scholar, top third of the class, with a Certificate in Securities and Financial Law), and most recently clerked in the Antitrust Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland. He is admitted to practice in Brazil and sat for the New York Bar Exam in 2025.
Fluent in Portuguese and English, with working Spanish, Roberto further deepens the firm's Latin America and cross-border capabilities.
